‘I related to his struggles with change as I am autistic and struggle with change as well.’

My name is Keziah, welcome to RAWD Reviews! I am writing this review because I love write, see theatre and share my creativity.

On the 20th of June I went to The Atkinson to see The Boy King which is a one man show starring Jordan Connerty. The Boy King is an autobiographical, vibrant and educational one man show celebrating 100 years since the discovery of Tutankhamun’s Tomb.

Get to know The Boy King, the team who excavated his tomb and Jordan – A boy whose love of history transformed his life growing up with Autism.

The stage has a really cool realistic setup for a Museum, packed with boxes of old objects from Egypt, statues and even a tomb, It was really impressive. Jordan was absolutely incredible, he had amazing energy and he was extremely good at making the audience feel involved, captivating their attention. Throughout I learned a lot.

Normally I would find learning boring but Jordan actually made it interesting and I even got to volunteer when he needed help removing the brain of the mummy. Throughout the show I was fully entertained and enjoyed every minute.

Jordan is incredibly talented and has an amazing way of getting his points across. I related to his struggles with change as I am autistic and struggle with change as well. I would fully recommend this show. It was fun, informative and funny.

I would give this show a five out of five!

CREATIVE CORNER:

This is a place for Keziah to share any of her creative ideas that are inspired by the show!

From watching the Boy king written and performed by Jordan it has made me think of my passion: Tokyo.

I have always been obsessed with the history of Japan, especially Tokyo. I love how unique their culture is and they always seem so polite. One thing I find really interesting is Tokyo's Love for Anime and Manga.

I also find Japan's Kingdom of Magic and The City of Vending Machines so cool. I really want to visit Japan one day and I would love to learn more about Japan . The blossom there is so beautiful.

The country has always called to me and it's been a life goal of mine to learn Japanese, but it's so hard to learn and I get so cross with myself when trying.  Jordan has inspired me to learn more about Japan.

Did you know Japan's capital, Tokyo, is the largest city in the world? Kyoto was the capital of Japan for over a millennium. Natural disasters are common in Japan, and Japan has 110 active volcanoes.
