Les Misérables: RAWD REVIEWS

WRITTEN BY KEZIAH

My name is Keziah, welcome to RAWD Reviews! I am writing this review because I love write, see theatre and share my creativity.

On Friday the 27th I went to Manchester arena to see Les Misérables.

The arena at Manchester is not accessible due to, the amount of panic attacks I had on the stairs, and how crowded the stairs got, they need to manage it better and put slopes down for people like me who struggle walking downstairs.

Les Misérables is all about the revolution of Paris and Jean Valjean, an escaped convict, who becomes the mayor of a town and the guardian of a young girl, however Javert who is a cop won't give up until he is behind bars again.

The cast of this show were Killian Donnelly as Valijean, Bradley Jaden as Javert, Bonnie Langford as Madame Thénardier, Gavin Lee as Thénardier, Jac Yarrow as Marius, Beatrice Penny-Touré as Cosette, Èponine as Aviva Tulley, Channah Hewitt as Fantine, James D Gish as Enjolras, Jeremy Secomb as Bishop of Digne, Gavroche as Daniel Adesina, and little Cosette as India Mills.

The stage set was pretty cool as it had moving platforms/raised platforms and for one scene they even made use of under the stage as the sewers.

One cool effect was the screens as they showed different settings, and you could see close ups of the cast, Bradley Jaden who played Javert was incredible, he portrayed his emotions incredibly, in the song stars he really shows his anger and hate for Valijean, his face expression had me captivated!,

Gavroche played by Daniel Adesina was also incredible, he really got into his character and had a way of getting the audience's attention.

The show had me crying in so many parts, all the cast really put their all into their roles and you could tell they all cared so much about their parts.

One character I really relate to is Èponine played by Aviva Tulley as she has feelings for someone who doesn't even notice, I can relate to this as most of the time I am not the first choice, she also sings one of my favourite songs on my own, and she did a amazing job!

The effects were also brilliant in this, they had lights come down acting as street lights, and they used the lighting to look like shadows.

Aviva moved me so much singing on my own you could feel her desperation and heartbreak.

The show was so good I would give it a 5 out of 5.

I was honestly moved and got so many goosebumps!

CREATIVE CORNER:

This is a place for Keziah to share any of her creative ideas that are inspired by the show!

Watching les Misérables made me think about how many homeless people there actually are.

I think people overlook them so much. I think as a society we should come together to help people on the streets, we should do more sponsored stuff, we should treat them like normal people because they are!

No one should be made to feel like they don't matter, regardless of their situation, we need to show people more kindness, it can be as simple as buying food and drinks for them, or just talking to them when they talk to you, everyone should be treated equally even if people are not homeless, everyone is going through their own battles, so smile at people, offer support, be there for your friends, and also be there for yourself.
